I had another post all written, but it was basically one big complaint about being stuck at home, so I decided not to put it out there. Being at home for long periods of time when you don’t feel well stinks, and that’s all there is to say about that.
Instead, I thought I’d write about my dreams for when I’m feeling better–the places I’d like to go and things I’d like to do. That’s more fun to dream about anyway.
Number one is Disneyland. It seems a cliche, but I love it and I would love to bring Emmie there too. Going to Harry Potter-land reminded me of how much I love Disney and re-energized my desire to bring Emmie there sooner than later.
Number two is San Francisco. It’s my favorite city in the world and it also happens to be where my brother lives (who was just out here visiting for 3 weeks,so I’m missing him a lot right now). I’d like for Emmie to go there someday, but this trip maybe it would just be me and Peter. I don’t really know yet. But I do know it WILL include salted caramel ice cream from Bi-Rite Creamery! And lots of other yummy food, no doubt.
Number three is Maui. We already have a trip planned there for the spring and I can’t wait. We went there when Emmie was just shy of 2 years old and we loved it, and I can’t wait to go back. Especially right now with these stupid cold temperatures in Colorado! The thought of being where it’s always 75 sounds amazing. I can’t wait to snorkel with the fish and the sea turtles again, and I think Emmie would love the beach even more now than when she was younger.
That’s all I have for right now, but I think that’s a good list for the next 6-12 months or so. Time is a-wasting so I need to get better so I can get these travel plans on the road!

What an inspiration…think I’ll do the same, Shannon. Make a dream list. Thank you for the push! As you know, I am new to your blog…I must say getting an email in my inbox from you is like getting a present from the mail or UPS. Thank you!
Your words about having to be stuck inside but dreaming about what you will be doing on the outside reminded me of a Robert Louis Stevensen poem, The Land of Counterpane, I read first as a child: (of course I Googled as memory would not serve me well!)–<3
When I was sick and lay a-bed,
I had two pillows at my head,
And all my toys beside me lay,
To keep me happy all the day.
And sometimes for an hour or so
I watched my leaden soldiers go,
With different uniforms and drills,
Among the bed-clothes, through the hills;
And sometimes sent my ships in fleets
All up and down among the sheets;
Or brought my trees and houses out,
And planted cities all about.
I was the giant great and still
That sits upon the pillow-hill,
And sees before him, dale and plain,
The pleasant land of counterpane.
