And a possible clue?
Biopsy of the latest lump (in my abdomen) was negative! Doc said it was a dermatofibroma, which is what I suspect the little hard lumps near my knees are, and in my (utterly untrained, linguistically-based) opinion, possibly related to the neuroFIBROMA the ENT suspected in my neck (I never got an official name for what that lump was, just that it was benign). (End parentheses).
Nothing to worry about, for the time being, which is excellent. Lots to give thanks for, this Thanksgiving week! And with this newest information, it really does seem like my body has decided that now is the time to make fibrous THINGS in my body. You know, just for funsies. Keeps me on my toes.
Will I ignore any new lumps that may appear over the next however long? No, but depending on where they are and how concerned the inspecting doctor is, I may choose the “keep an eye on it” route for others (I am doing this with the two tiny ones near my knees and they are behaving very well). Do I regret getting this one taken out? Not at all. We know for sure what it is, I don’t have to worry about it and it’s given us another clue to my body. It also was a lot more concerning to feel than some of the others have been (like, even if I had never had cancer, I one hundred percent still would have gone to the doc to have it looked at). So I’m glad to know.
In other news, Emmie would like you to know that reading is hawt:
That’s right, Emmie is reading. Or, more accurately, Emmie is now eating books. She wants to tell you that they are delicious.
I think we may? possibly? be over the worst of the storm that had descended on our house for the last 2 days. She still cried a bit this morning and night, but not as bad as the days before. My money is on growth spurt, since she woke up about 5 times last night to eat (roughly every 2 hours). It actually wasn’t too bad, since I was kind of expecting it, but I was still pretty tired this morning. I’m hoping she’ll sleep a little better tonight, but even if I don’t, I know that This Too Shall Pass.
