The ENT came in early this morning and gave us the pathology report that ZERO of the eighteen nodes (which are the visibly enlarged portions of the lymphatic system) they identified in surgery were positive for cancer. There are still some steps to discuss with the oncologist, but this is a great relief in the meantime. If you’d like to celebrate with Shannon she is listening to the song “Dog Days are Over” by Florence and the machine as tears stream down her face.

We also got the news that she is ready to be discharged. We’re waiting for the ENT PA to remove the drain, and the discharge papers to be prepared. Stitches get removed on Friday.
