It’s Shannon!

Very short, as I still don’t have much energy, but I wanted to say hello. THANK YOU for all the messages, emails, texts, guestbook signings, etc. They are so wonderful to read when I have a few minutes of energy, and never fail to bring a smile to my face (well, as much of a smile as I can manage with my cheek pain!).

Also, I have to thank my incredible, wonderful, fantastic husband, Peter. I truly, truly am so lucky to have such an amazing partner. His updates have been spot-on, and as great as his updates are, his in-person support has been even better. I’ll definitely have to devote a LONG post to singing his praises when I have more time & energy.

My mom and dad have also been wonderful and Peter and I could not have done this without them. Unfortunately, I have to share my dad with my brother, as my daredevil bro’s luck ran out over the weekend and he managed to break his collarbone in 3 places, as well as both his wrists, all of which will need surgery (we just found out). So my mom will stay here and nurse me, while my dad will stay with my brother. Thank goodness for two parent households!

There are so many other to thank for various and sundry things that I can’t list them all here, but know that your offers are very appreciated, even if they aren’t taken up right away. Many people have offered to visit while I’m here, but between all the consultations from different doctors, and my very real need to nap A LOT, there really isn’t a lot of time for visits. I know I will appreciate them more when we are back home and I’m feeling better, so please come visit then! At this rate, it shouldn’t be long before we are home (tomorrow, from the sound of it!).

If you have a spare moment, please send up a thought, prayer, or wish for good news from the biopsy. We still haven’t heard anything, and since all of our bad news has seemed to come quickly, I’m hoping that this tiny delay means good news.

The soundtrack that has been playing nonstop in my head since surgery: Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen and The Dog Days are Over by Florence and the Machine. I’m so happy surgery went so well, recovery is going so well, and now I’m looking forward to looking back on all of this very soon!

Love you all,
Shan
